Supporting You in Supporting Your Patients
Thank you for referring your patient to Aurora Bariatrics. We value your trust and are committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred bariatric care.
Who Can Refer?
We accept referrals from:
- General Practitioners (GPs)
- Medical Specialists
Self-referrals are also accepted, but patients will not receive a Medicare rebate for their initial consultation without a valid referral.
Referral Validity with Medicare:
- GP referrals: valid for 12 months from the patient's first consultation with the surgeon.
- Specialist referrals: valid for 3 months from the initial consultation.
How Are Patients Seen?
We offer both Telehealth and in-person consultations, making our service flexible and accessible.
- Telehealth: Available Tuesdays and Wednesdays
- Murdoch Clinic: In-person consults every second Tuesday
- Perth CBD (Mount Clinic): In-person consults every second Tuesday (alternate weeks)
- Subiaco Consulting Rooms: In-person consults monthly Friday
- Albany: Monthly in-person clinics at the Great Southern Specialist Centre

Once received, our team will contact the patient directly to arrange their appointment.
Appointment Availability
We reserve time in each clinic session for new referrals to ensure timely access.
If you have a preferred timeline or surgery date in mind, please let us know early to accommodate your request.
