Extra support for your post-op journey — when you need it most
At Aurora Bariatrics, we know that your weight loss journey doesn’t end after surgery. In fact, some of the biggest challenges can come after the procedure — when weight loss slows, motivation dips, or the last few kilos just won’t budge.
That’s why we created SleevePlus: a dedicated support program offered in the first 12 months after your bariatric surgery, as part of your Aurora After Care Plan.
Why SleevePlus?
The vast majority of patients lose a large amount of their body weight. The median total weight loss at one year is approximately 30%. Patients also gain significant improvements in other diseases like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and snoring.
But around 11% of patients will lose less than 20% at one year. These patients are “non-responders”, which is more likely in patients on insulin therapy for diabetes, older age, higher starting BMI and multiple anti-depressive medications. These patients will need some extra help.

What’s Included in SleevePlus
SleevePlus gives eligible patients access to:
✅ Consultations with our
Bariatric GP, who will review your progress and identify barriers to continued weight loss
✅ Tailored
medication-based support, including the use of weight loss medications (e.g. GLP-1 receptor agonists), if appropriate
✅ A personalised plan to address challenges like appetite, cravings, emotional eating, or weight plateaus
✅ Ongoing follow-up as needed — because we’re here for the whole journey
No additional consultation fees apply — SleevePlus is included as part of your Aurora Bariatric Management Fee.
The Aurora Difference

Your After Care Program includes a minimum of 6 follow-up appointments in the first 12 months with our multidisciplinary team — including your surgeon, nurse practitioner, and bariatric GP.

You may be invited into the SleevePlus program if you:
- Experience a plateau or weight regain within the first 6 months
- Have a starting BMI over 45
- Need extra support to stay on track
- Would benefit from medication alongside lifestyle and surgical treatment
