About Dr Gunasekara (or "Dr G")
Dr Gunasekara is a Specialist
medical physician and Nephrologist with a special interest in Surgical Peri-Operative Management. He sees Dr Blackham's in-patients at St John of God Murdoch.
Dr G sees all Aurora Bariatric's patients of Dr Blackham during their operative stay as an inpatient (either the night of surgery or the morning after), to ensure comprehensive medical and surgical care for all of our patients.

Dr Gunasekara was a graduate of the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in 1994. He obtained his Doctorate in Medicine in 2002 from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and became a Fellow of The Ceylon College of Physicians in 2010. He became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2009.
Dr Gunasekara has a special interest in peri-operative medicine, the management of diabetes, hypocholesteremia, thyroid disorders and weight management.
